1. Cut off the power of the unit.
2. Maintenance of safety valve: the handle of safety valve should be rotated once a month. If there is water flowing out, it indicates that the safety valve works normally. If there is no water flowing out, then the safety valve failure.
3. Clean inner tank: close water inlet, open safety valve to pressure relief. When no water flows out, close all outlet valves, use a wrench to remove the drain pipe and the counter wire of the safety valve together, then open the drain plug, connect the drain pipe and counter wire to the drain outlet (the other end of the drain pipe is placed at the drain outlet), open any outlet valve, and drain the water. After water drain out, reset all components. Note: During blowdown, open the inlet valve several times to flush the dirt at the bottom of the tank.
4. Drain the water tank: If the water heater tank during transport, or not used for a long time, please drain the water tank according to item 3.
5. If there is a protective anode rod (magnesium/aliumium rod) configured in the water tank, it is good for the unit’s service life. Magnesium/Aliumium is a very active element, which can be used to replace calcium ions on the water surface and prevent scale formation. Normally, the anode rod needs to be replaced once every two years, but the replacement time varies due to different water quality in different regions.
